Deniers Cross the Ocean.

Back in June of 2011 it was reported that in the United Kingdom, Tim Oats, director of Research at Cambridge Assessment Board, one of the biggest exam boards in Europe, stated that climate change should not be taught in the United Kingdom national curriculum. It was seen as a subject that was too politicized.

At that time the deniers hadn't mounted their attack in the United States. Since then $14 million has been donated by a single anonymous individual to the Chicago based Heartland Institute to design a curriculum to teach school children that mainstream global warming science is in dispute even though it is accepted by the Federal Government and nearly every professional organization. Heartland also pays global warming skeptics more than $300,000 per year. It is also raising $88,000 to help TV weathermen set up a new temperature records website. No word as to where their data will come from or who the anonymous donor is.

The children, whose world will be affected by global warming should instead be taught how to reverse global warming, clean up the environment and make our way of life sustainable. The Heartland Institute should instead spend their their millions improving the world we live in. Furthermore the Heartland Institute should be forced to reveal who their donor is, what his connections are, and what benefits will accrue to our children with his money. He should also not be allowed any tax benefits from his donation until this is done.
