Santorum Gets it Wrong.
We must put the earth above man in importance.
In a recent campaign speech on Meet the Press Rick Santorum stated that President Obama's policies promote the ideas of "radical environmentalists" who oppose the greater use of the nation's natural resources. This refers to the proposed new oil pipeline. Painting all environmentalists as radicals is disingenuous. Spills from this pipeline could cause irreparable damage by polluting our ground water. Santorum states that the earth is here to serve man, not the other way around.
Using the earth and it's resources in the typical "Business as usual" manner, or as Santorum calls it, letting the earth serve man, will result in depletion of our resources and pollution of the atmosphere, our ground water and destruction of the ocean fisheries, causing drought, famine and floods, rising seas, wildfires and destructive hurricanes and tornadoes.
Relating the re-examination of the environmental impact of the new pipeline to Santorums real target, the new healthcare plan, which he claims will result in more abortions, is a bit of a stretch. Santorum, with his seven children, is contributing to the earth's greatest threat, namely overpopulation. He sets a poor example for a world whose population now exceeds seven billion. If we all had that many children we would soon run out of all resources starting with food and water and ending with energy without which the human race would no longer be able to exist. If he really wanted to elevate man above earth he would realize that the "radical environmentalists" hold the key to man's survival. Business as usual is the path to destruction for mankind.
