The big oil, coal and gas lobbies have set up a website to spread climate change manure. The site, CO2 is Green.org, is devoted to convincing the American public that the more CO2 the fossil fuel polluters spew out the better it will be for humankind. It's all aimed at preventing cap and trade legislation. They claim that CO2 is not a greenhouse gas and isn't bad for people or plants. This is a half truth...

It is the title of Al Gore's new book. The choice to which he referred was whether to take climate seriously and develop non-polluting energy sources to prevent global warming, or continue with business as usual, and ignore the warnings of climate scientists. There are plenty of deniers ready and willing to take big oil and big coal's money to beat the drum for BAU.

An article from the Washington Post, Sunday, August 16, reported that oil companies, through the American Petroleum Institute, were asking employees to attend town hall meetings and rallies over the August Congressional recess to make it appear that the general public didn’t want the climate bill being considered in Congress. It amounts to a small group of companies, whose interests lie totally in selling more fossil fuels to the detriment of our climate, the country, and the world, trying to have their way.
