Onward and Upward

Now that progress has been made on getting the health care bill passed and operational we simply must concentrate on passing a rational energy plan to free us from the clutches of big oil and coal and pave the way toward reducing our pollution of the environment and heading off climate change or global warming, or what ever you want to call it.

CO2 a Problem? No?

A report from Der Spiegel On Line, an electronic version of the German newspaper, reports that a new study by Susan Trumbore of the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Jena, Germany, revealed that the environment, including the oceans and rain forests, are able too absorb far more CO2 than previously thought. Is this good news?

You Can't Lose 'em All

These days it's unusual to hear something good about climate change. I recently wrote about Bolivia's Chacaltaya glacier totally disappearing. I don't really enjoy writing about global disaster, but when it happens we should take note. Bolivia's loss could present some serious problems for them. I was pleased today to see an article in the Arizona Daily Star about a glacier in Argentina, called the Perito Moreno Glacier. The glacier seems to have shrugged off any hint of global warming....
