Whose Side are They On?

on Thursday, 19 August 2010.

Power generating Companies are mandated to provide a percentage of the power they generate by renewable sources. Why is Tucson Electric Power company wanting to cut back on rebates which encourage consumers to install solar power systems when much of the available funds have not been applied for or paid to consumers? And why did the Arizona Corporation Commission reduce the amount TEP applied for from $3 to $2 per watt when TEP was only asking for a fifty cent reduction? Furthermore small commercial customer's rebates were reduced even more to $1.50 per watt from $2.50. It sounds as if the Corporation Commission has no interest in encouraging alternative energy and reducing our dependence on the most destructive energy source on the planet, coal.
