The AP reported today that China surpassed the United States, the previous winner of the biggest energy hog award. But don't worry folks. We still beat them on a per capita basis. This surge in consumption on China's part makes them the biggest source of climate changing greenhouse gases. They are way ahead of us in the development of solar and wind and are said to be closing older coal fired power generating plants. They are a bit touchy about the honor and claim that developing nations deserve to industrialize.
